the modular architecture of BlackFiles
BlackFiles is built around a modular architecture for personal digital data management. Each module focuses on a specific type of private data, while all modules follow the same interface logic, navigation structure and functional principles.
This uniform system reduces complexity, shortens the learning curve and allows users to manage different areas of their digital life without switching between unrelated applications.
The following examples show selected BlackFiles desktop modules and demonstrate how the modular concept is structured.
The DOCUMENTS module manages personal documents such as contracts, identification papers, warranties, invoices, insurance policies and similar files. Documents can be organized in predefined directories or stored in protected archive areas when additional privacy is required.
Additional functions may include file sharing, email integration, printing, reminders and other tools for structured document management.

The PASSWORDS module stores and organizes login data by category, including bank accounts, cloud and email accounts, credit cards, online stores, memberships and similar services.
It can also provide direct access to the corresponding websites, while sensitive information can be handled through protected archive areas.

The CONTACTS module manages personal and professional contacts, including family members, friends, clients, suppliers, authorities and business partners.
Each contact profile can be enriched with additional information such as addresses, professional details, education, notes, photos, videos or voice recordings. Sensitive contact data can be stored in protected archive areas.

The IMAGES module manages visual media and is divided into three sub-categories:
-
PICTURES manages still images in predefined folders and includes options for editing, slide shows, exporting, streaming and sharing. Private image collections can be stored in protected archive areas.
-
VIDEOS organizes video files by categories such as events, vacations or family recordings. Users can merge video files, export, stream and share them, while private videos can be stored separately when required.
-
MOVIES imports TV recordings or downloaded movie files and organizes them in predefined archives. Exporting, streaming and sharing functions can be included as part of the module workflow.

The TUNES module manages three sub-categories:
-
MUSIC imports and organizes music files alphabetically, by artist and by genre. Users can create playlists, merge selected files and export, stream or share music collections.
-
WEB RADIO provides access to live streams from a curated list of internet radio stations.
-
EVENTS connects users with event-related information such as concerts, festivals, exhibitions and trade fairs, with the option to access online ticket services where available.

The TIMES module manages time-based information and is divided into three sub-categories:
-
CALENDARS allows users to create and manage multiple calendars for personal, family or professional use. Events can be moved, edited or cancelled, while holidays, alerts and notifications can be configured according to user needs.
-
MEETINGS manages private and professional appointments and displays them in day, week, month or year views. Multiple calendars can be used for different activities, with options for printing overviews and organizing appointment-related information.
-
SHIFTS provides structured overviews of work schedules and shift plans. Users can define and edit time periods, add leave times such as medical leave, travel or maternity leave, and print schedule overviews when required.
